Spoke of "problems of vandalism and neglect" which have led to a decision to relocate this memorial garden to Mere Hall.
In fact, when this story was first published some time ago, Friends of Queens Park approached the council and offered to look after the rose garden.
In the past some dedicated volunteers have been out many a Sunday morning clearing away weeds so that the beautiful rose bushes planted in memory of loved ones could be seen at their best.
Bolton Council, did take over the maintenance Of the Rose Garden.
The diameter of the Rose Garden was reduced so as to make the maintenance by the council’s full time gardener easier to do.
The Rose Garden has been eliminated by Bolton Council.
